This was one of our first support projects starting in early 2000 after our initial public meeting in November 1999 as an identified need for the area, which has a high amount of people with Diabetes type 1 and 2 and people were encouraged to join in. The average attendance to the meetings is around 30 and they enjoy talks and also social occasions and coach trips.
Since the closure of the Torpoint Community Clinic the meetings have moved to the Council Chambers and these happen bi-monthly. One of the local GP’s has been President of this group since its inception and it continues to thrive.
